What hearth should I have?

Jan uses Solid Slate as standard but other materials can be used.

What liner is used?

Jan uses high grade 316 stainless steel liner that attaches to the bespoke register plate. 904 grade stainless can also be used.

How do you reach the chimney?

Where possible Jan will access your chimney via ladders. Should access prove tricky then Jan will use a cherry picker or scaffolding. A range of photos of your chimney will help Jan assess whether a cherry picker is required which he will confirm on the pre installation survey.

Do I need to come to the showroom?

While we stock our most popular stoves, Jan will come to your home to help you decide on the most appropriate stove and will explain what work is required in order to complete the installation.

How do I get a quote?

Based on a few questions about your home, the room, current situation with the fireplace and whether you have a chimney, Jan will be able to provide a quote via email or over the telephone. He will be able to confirm this quote on completing the site visit. The original quote will be fairly accurate unless the site visit reveals unexpected elements.

Do I need a chimney?

Yes, an existing chimney is ideal. If there is no existing chimney, an insulated chimney system needs to be installed. However, this may involve installing through each room above, to reach the highest point of the house. Alternatively, the new chimney can exit on an outside wall rising to the highest point of your house and possibly subject to planning permission.

Will my installation be HETAS  compliant?

Jan is HETAS qualified and all installation will be subject to HETAS regulations.
